VarTech Systems has improved its entire line of 12.1"daylight viewable monitors by now offering them with a standard XGA 1024 x 768 resolution. This satisfies many industry needs by providing smaller sunlightreadable displays at higher resolutions. These new high resolution monitors are available in all mounting configurations including panel mount, VESA wall mountand chassis console mount. Additionally, the sunlight viewable 12.1" panelmount configuration is available in either NEMA 4 (IP65) or NEMA 4X (IP66) front bezel construction.

The daylight viewable monitors are capable of operating in an ultra-wide temperature range of -10 to 50C with optional extended temperatures of -40 to 55C. Touch screen technologies are optional on the CrystalVue series ofsunlight readable monitors and can include resistive touch screen, capacitive touch screen or VarTech’s industry leading Armor Touch technology. An external full-range dimming dial is also optional for 0 to 100 percent display illumination when more or less backlight intensity is needed. Power supplies of 12VDC are standard and 24VDC, 9 to 36VDC, or 90-264 V AC power are also available.

The new XGAresolution 12.1 inch sunlight readable display monitors can serve in many demanding and high ambient lighting environments. Some configurations are ideal for mobile uses such as vehicle mount monitors or heavy outdoor equipment used in mining, construction, warehousing, automation, factory floors, packaging and assembly.

VarTech Systems Unveils Their Newest Industrial 32 Inch, NEMA 4, IP65, LCD Computer For Indoor and Outdoor Applications

VarTech Systems Inc. has released their first large screen, fully enclosed, rugged 32” computer. Part of VarTech’s ToughStation series line of industrial computers and workstations, the new VTPC320VHB daylight readable, widescreen, LCD, all in one computer is a rugged indoor and outdoor IPC capable of 1400 nits display brightness operating at an impressive operational temperature range of -30 to +70C. The new large screen LCD computer is powered by the latest Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor with 2GB of system memory featuring Window’s XP operating system (Windows Embedded or Windows 7 optional). Multiple mounting configurations including wall and ceiling mount in either landscape or portrait orientations are available. This system is a NEMA 4 IP65 fully enclosed, black-powder coat finished PC with no external vents offering weather resistant protection against water, dirt, dust, flying debris and humidity.

The LCD display screen of the VTPC320VHB has an optically bonded anti-reflective protective window for added shock and vibration protection and reduced solar reflectivity providing increased outdoor viewing ability. It is integrated with VarTech's proprietary Optical Stack Enhancement (OSE) which is a unique optical design that boosts efficiency of the backlight's light utilization and minimizes the surface reflection of ambient light. Optionally, the VTPC320VHB is available with impact resistant cover glass or vandal resistant, scrape-resistant touch screen technologies. A multitude of inputs can be included on this IPC including dual gigabit LAN ports, PS/2 keyboard & mouse support, vga output, RS-232 and USB 2.0. The VTPC320VHB has a 120 VAC, 50/60 Hz 5A supply voltage with optional 220-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz international supply voltage.

The VTPC320VHB widescreen, LCD, daylight viewable computer can be used in a number of indoor and outdoor environments and workflows. It can serve as interactive computers, information and totem kiosks, multimedia workstations, and training simulation applications. It is also ideal for transportation industry applications such as arrival / departure traveler information systems for scheduling as well as real-time transit vehicle arrivals and departures in areas like railway depots, airport terminals and bus stations. VarTech Systems Releases Their First Widescreen, WXGA, 7U, Rack Mount, Marine Grade LCD Display Monitor For Use In Demanding Maritime Environments

In order to meet the growing demands for larger widescreen display monitors in naval applications, VarTech Systems Inc. has engineered the VT190RWP2; a 16:10, 7U, rack mount monitor with a stunning WXGA (1440 X 900)  resolution display that is fully compatible with most marine electronics and computers. The VT190RWP2, which has a 0 to 50C operating temperature, consists of a 250 nits brightness LCD flat panel with an external, manual, full range dimming dial allowing for fluent 0 to 100 percent display illumination. In addition, the new marine grade display’s LCD flat panel comes standard with VarTech Systems' "VBond" optical bonding. This adds to the durability of the LCD screen while reducing solar reflectivity. These features make the VT190RWP2 a valuable addition to any sea vessel’s open cockpit or control room where there is a high degree of ambient outdoor lighting as well as night time conditions when less brightness is needed.

The marine grade VT190RWP2 display monitor’s mounting provisions include pass-through holes for easy installation into any console along with rugged front handles granting easy placement and retrieval during installs and/or removal. The monitor’s rugged black-powder coated aluminum front bezel increases its resistance to corrosion from harsh elements such as splashing salt and fresh water, mud, dirt and debris. The VT190RWP2 can be configured optionally with either resistive or capacitive touch screens, integrating well into marine computer systems and eliminating the need for a mouse and keyboard. Another testament to this marine grade monitor’s versatility is its optional power supply sources which can include either 12VDC or 9 – 36VDC.

VarTech Systems Integrates Shock Mounted Mother Board Into Their Industrial Line Of Fully Enclosed Computers

Vartech Systems has once again met the challenge of providing rugged and secure computing to industrial and demanding environments with the addition of shock-mounted motherboard engineering designs to its line of fully enclosed NEMA 4X (IP66) computers. The integration of spring-loaded mountings coupled with harnessed cables from the motherboard to the computer’s I/O ports means the processor is not directly mounted to the enclosure and, therefore, is not affected or damaged by excessive shock and vibrations.
Vartech’s line of fully enclosed NEMA 4X IP66 computer stations are vent-less, fully sealed touch screen LCD workstations ranging from screen sizes 10.4 to 19 inches. These units are safe from external environmental elements with an ingress protection rating of IP66 and are also available as non-incendive Class 1, Division 2 (C1D2), hazardous area computers. ToughStation fully enclosed computers can be configured with bottom-exiting connector or rear-exiting connector I/O ports, which are sealed to NEMA 4X rating via threaded, locking-style bulkhead connectors.

VarTech Systems All In One Panel PC Computers Now Available With Raid 5 Support

Demanding and industrial environments can often cause electrical and computer components to malfunction or fail completely. One such environmental challenge is maintaining the performance and reliability of computer-based data storage. Vartech Systems has met this challenge with the implementation of RAID 5 support in their line of rugged, all-in-one panel pc computer systems. Featuring NEMA 4 IP65 and NEMA 4X IP66 construction, these rugged LCD and LED panel computers exceed performance expectation in industries such as transportation, automation, packaging and assembly lines, visual inspection stations, oil / drilling rigs, surface mining as well as control rooms.

RAID 5 is a storage technology combining multiple disk drive components into a single, redundancy, data-backup and retrieval system. RAID 5 uses block-level striping with parity data across a minimum of 3 disk drives. This RAID level utilizes a parity check bit to analyze whether data has been lost or altered. One of the greatest strengths of RAID 5, other than its performance and data protection, is the ability for hot-swappable disk drive replacements during operation in case of a disk failure. This means less down time during production increasing overall efficiency as well as insuring safeguards against lost or corrupted information.

This level of RAID protection is now available on select Vartech Systems’ panel pc computers including NEMA 4 and NEMA 4X panel pcs, sunlight readable panel pcs and iCore processor based panel pcs for screen sizes 15 Inches and up.
